Return & Refund Policy

At The Generalist HK, your satisfaction is important to us. If you're not completely happy with your purchase, we offer a 3-day return policy. This means you have 3 days after receiving your item to request a return.


How to Request a Return

To begin the return process, please email us at:

Include the following information:

  • Your Order Number
  • Item(s) you wish to return
  • The reason for return

Note: Please do not send items back without prior approval, as unapproved returns will not be processed.


Return Conditions

  • Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging
  • All accessories, manuals, and parts included in the original order must be returned
  • Items must be in resalable condition

Return Shipping

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Use a trackable courier such as DHL or Hong Kong Post
  • We can arrange return shipping on your behalf (fees depend on your location and item size)
  • If no one is available for courier pickup, additional charges may apply

Damaged or Faulty Items

All items are inspected and securely packaged before dispatch. Please check your order upon arrival.

If your item arrives damaged or faulty, email us within 48 hours at thegeneralisthk@gmail.com with:

  • Photos of the damaged item
  • Your name, invoice number, and contact details
  • Item description

Please keep the original packaging for inspection. If approved, we will replace the item or issue a full refund at no extra cost. Each case is reviewed individually.


Fraud Prevention Notice

We record serial numbers on all inventory. Items returned that do not match our records will not be accepted.

Attempted return fraud will result in:

  • Permanent ban from our online and retail stores
  • Details passed to the Fraud Action Team

Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns for the following:

  • Perishable or fragile goods (e.g., glassware, bronze items)
  • Custom or personalized items
  • Consumables (e.g., thinners, adhesives, chemicals)
  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
  • Sale items and gift cards

If you’re unsure about an item’s return eligibility, please contact us before purchase.


Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll notify you of the refund approval status.

If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method.

Please note that it may take time for your bank or credit card provider to process and post the refund.
